BIG MEN PIN-UP

Here's another go with the tablet. I'm realizing I'm not getting the impact I want with flat and/or "dynamic" coloring, but I think I'm more effectively using my gradients and smooth brushes (may or maynot be a good thing at this point). I plan to pull in outside textures on my next attempt in digital coloring.
BIG MEN is a pitch I've been mulling over with Dave Landsberger for a while now. We're trying to get our ducks in a row and we have the pitch booklet text all finished (thanks to Dave), but the visuals are a bit slow in the process (thanks to me). I'm working on them as we speak and we should have it all done hopefully early January.

White Picket Fences Backup Story.

Here are all five pages for the White Picket Fences backup. It's great to see then next to each other. I can see the physical evidence of what I've learned. An odd achievement to observe but great to have a finished product. I'm going to say that page 3 is my favorite. It's the page that I figured out my process and the overall color of the page is something that I'm very proud.
I'll probably be doing more WPF images in the near future, so keep your browsers on alert.
Also, on a music note: Listen the Architecture in Helsinki's first album Fingers Crossed. I had it on for most of my work time on this project and loved the whole thing.

More T's.
In cahoots with both Omead and the good people at SouthPole, we now have more T-shirts. This is a finished version of three of four new ones we've designed.

The panthers are for two other designs. I'm not a cat person, but I had fun with these.

Omead.

My buddy, Omead Afshari, and I have recently started on a little series of collaborations. This is a concept that +O came up with and had me add my touch. I have to say I sent the drawing off with out having any idea what the final product would look like and now upon seeing what his vision was, I am totally sold on working with him further. Watch out for more of these shirts, folks. Omead is a tropical brainstorm approaching the coast.

Lighting the Fire...under my ass.
Brian Mead Studio has finally gotten the tool of the future... THE INTERWEB! It's a bit weak at times but I will be cataloging, for both your enjoyment and my ego's personal gain, the pieces I've done over the past few months and pieces I'm working on presently .
Here's one treat from a show I currently have up at the Geneva Public Library. I've been slowly pushing my way through Ray Bradbury's short stories and rereading sections of Fahrenheit 451, along with deciding that Dandelion Wine is one my Top 5 favorite novels. So this a quick painting based on F451. Enjoy, and see you next post.
